Success Story

Amboananakely

In 2021, with support from Adsum’s Business Brain and the Adsum Foundation, a new primary school was built in Amboananakely. It opened in July, marking a major step forward for education in the village.

Location

Amboananakely is a remote village in Ambohimandry, in the Itasy Region of central Madagascar. The school is only accessible by motorbike due to poor road conditions.

Beneficiaries

The new school gives children in Amboananakely and nearby villages safe classrooms and the chance to complete their education. It has also encouraged the community to support learning.

Objectives

The aim of the project was to improve access to quality education in a rural area. The school was built to provide a safe, durable learning space for children, while also encouraging stronger community engagement in education.

Project Background

Before the new school was built, children had little access to proper classrooms or materials. With funding from Adsum’s Business Brain and the Adsum Foundation, the Madagascar Development Fund led the construction, with strong support from the local community. The school was officially opened in July 2021.

The End Result

The school is now fully in use, with better learning conditions and higher enrolment. Families are more engaged, and the community is committed to caring for the building as a foundation for the future.
