One Donation. Twice The Impact.
This year, we have secured two donors who have contributed to a match-pot, meaning donations made to our literacy project between midday 27th November & midday 4th December via the link below will be more than doubled!
Every £1 raised will increase to £2.70.
Our literacy project delivers vital training in Madagascar, where over a quarter of the population can’t read, write or count. Running over six months, our training is delivered by 300 centrally trained teachers at 300 learning centres (schools, homes or under the shade of a tree).
Donate here (between midday 27 Nov - midday 4 Dec):
Each year we give 10,000 people life-changing literacy skills. This matched funding means that an amazing six months literacy training for 1000 people costs £2150.
71% of the Madagascar households are involved in farming. Inability to read and write, alongside financial illiteracy, is a barrier to the advancement of the farming community, where they can often be taken advantage of at market.
Each teacher is supplied with all the materials required including chalk, writing materials & a bike, if required. We also create & publish a literacy training manual, which is given to each student.
This year, why not give the gift of literacy skills to people in Madagascar as your gift to a friend or family member this Christmas?
Give the gift of:
- a bicycle for a literacy teacher - £30.50
- six months training for a small, rural village - £73.00
- training handbooks for 250 people - £117.50
Receive a personalised Christmas gift voucher to give to your friend or family member.
