Gilbert Ash provide clean water in Andavabato
The community at Andavabato now have clean and safe water for the first time thanks to funding from Northern Irish building contractors Gilbert Ash.
Before now 310 villagers in two hamlets had to make the 40 minute round trip to collect water, a journey made even more difficult by the fact that the return leg was up a steep hill which became muddy, slippery and potentially dangerous in the rainy season.
But this is a thing of the past now thanks to Gilbert Ash's donation, which has helped supply a new gravity fed water system that feeds 1.5km from the source at a natural spring, down to 4 standpipes throughout the community.
One of Adsum's strongest supporters, Gilbert Ash have also funded two primary schools over the last three years and this latest donation was made possible thanks to various fundraising efforts by their staff, including participation in last years Maracycle.
