Ulidia Integrated College Funds Primary School Well

Ulidia Integrated College Funds Primary School Well

Sincere thanks to the pupils & staff of Ulidia College for fundraising to provide a borehole well for Ambalamanenjana Primary School in the highlands of rural Madagascar.

Almost 300 people will now have access to safe drinking water thanks to Ulidia College's generosity!

Prior to the installation of the borehole well, pupils at Ambalamanenjana Primary School fetched water from a traditional spring, which was visibly dirty and contaminated. People living near the school also used this water for all washing purposes (people, clothes, dishes).

Due to the water being contaminated, many people suffered from diarrhoeal disease and malaria. Being the main water fetchers in the household, children were particularly affected by sickness. This impacted negatively on their school attendance levels and overall results. In addition to this, the traditional spring is 200 metres from the school. Therefore, fetching water was time-consuming and disruptive to the school day.

Thank You Ulidia - Ambala PS - 2.JPG

Not only has Ulidia Integrated College given the school children access to safe drinking water but they've also transformed their lives! Thanks so much to the staff and pupils of Ulidia Integrated College for their fantastic fundraising efforts!
